Basketball Statistics Tracking Referred Questions:
About a NOT valid basket counted as GOOD... Correctable official error ?
"... These are the Triway Titans Basketball last 30 seconds of the 2007 season. The video analysis shows clearly that the basket is NOT valid, so what for the analysis ? How we register this play ? Official´s winning ?
What is the correct rule and, specially, the statistical tracking according with the eBA Basketball Statistics System ? ..."
Basketball Rule's Fundamental= All our basketball statistics forums are plenty of this type of video-questions about statistics analysis: the statistician and / or the game analyst must register what happen in the game, and not to analyze the official's calls. Another people do this...
This is not an "correctable official error" case ( see this thread at eBA Forums ) neither we have possibility of giving a "team turnover" in order to avoid punishing a player twice.
Basketball Game's Rule=
To be correctable the error must be recognized by the officials, table officials or commissioner, if present, before the ball becomes live following the first dead ball after the game clock has started following the error. That is:
1) Error occurs = All errors occur during a dead ball
2) Ball live = Error is correctable
3) Game clock starts or continues to run = Error is correctable
4) Dead ball = Error is correctable
5) Ball live = Error is no longer correctable
After the correction of the error, the game shall be Resumed and the ball shall be awarded to the team entitled to the ball at the time the game was interrupted to correct the error.
eBA Basketball Statistics Tracking=

The only thing you can do is a commentary about this situation in the play-by-play report, for example, about the the bad defensive move of #30 Blue in the rebound defense...
See in these blogs and in our forums the 'basketball rules' topics and the exposition "Basketball Possessions Tracking & Analysis" at eBA ONLINE.
All the terms in this post are widely explained at The eBA Basketball Encyclopedia.
This topic is resumed in the eBA Basketball Statistics System Book
"... Last play of the video, we have an assist made, not potential and not missed... but the player who give the assist could made a basket instead... he give up he´s own 2 points... statistically he loses one point rate at least... is there any special qualification of this classic play, when doing basketball statistical analysis, and not only recording statistics according to your eBA Basketball Statistics System classification ? ..."
