Sunday's Reflexions on Basketball Statistics:
Analysis of Disputed & Undisputed Basketball Rebounds
I am going on with the thematic of my last Sunday Reflexions: about the basketbal rebounding.
The eBA Basketball Statistics Creative Analysis chart the rebounds situation by
• how many players for each team are in the area of where the ball is for the potential rebound
• and from those players how many make an attempt to dispute the rebound.
The number of players that each team send to the board is deeply analyzed here.
We register:
• if the rebound is undisputed (against no other player);
• even disputed ( 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, etc.); or
• with numerical advantage (2 vs. 1, 3 vs. 2, etc.);
and we give a different rebounding rate taking in account only the disputed ones.
We classify the rebounds according to the shots:
• from three-Pointers;
• two point jump shots outside of the paint,
• into the paint; and
• from free-throws.
In all the shots: whether from right, center or left.
And finally we chart where the missed shot is rebounded:
• long rebounds;
• medium rebounds; and
• short rebounds,
• whether from right, center or left.
