Basketball Statistics Analysis Referred Concepts:
Blocked or Altered Shots Statistical Charging
The blocked shots are an area of doubts for the statisticians, how this actions are registered ?
The blocked shots as the fact of whether a pass or shot is being attempted, are areas of difficulty for the statistician.
The blocked shots are considered as attempts in the eBA Statistics Registration only if the offensive player was in the act of shooting before the ball was blocked.
If there is a doubt as to whether the player was intending to shoot, the eBA Statistics Registration shall be that he was not intending a shot.
For the overall function of the statistics analysis, the act of shooting is defined as an upward and/or forth motion toward the basket with the purpose of trying for a goal.

By the way, remember these definitions from the eBA Basketball Statistics Analysis System: at the Block Shot (2nd. photograph) the ball doesn't leave the shooter's hand and we register Turnover for the shooter, Steal for the blocker.
When the shot is altered (1st. Photograph), the ball leaves the shooter's hand and we register a missed shot for the shooter and a Steal (Block) for the blocker.
