Forum's Digest: 'Points-in-the-paint' and 'Winning Games'

"... Talking about positions, did the eBA Basketball Statistics Analysis a research to establish a correlation between the statistical category 'points-in-the-paint' and 'winning games' in basketball ? ..."

Surely, you keep listening game analysts talk about how certain teams protect the paint better than others or how another team has a weak inside presence.
Is it acceptable to say that your team have to be tops offensively and defensively to be considered a championship aspirant.
Close shots are the highest FG% shots so it is important, and 3pt shooting is the next best type shot.
Being tops offensively and defensively helped a lot of champions, but maybe "inside points" differential would be better measure for teams in general than the two parts individually, as your team could be above average but not spectacular on offense and above average on defense in addition.
Therefore, in an ideal manner your team would need inside/outside attack combo and as strong as possible differentials on each.
