Rules Corner: 3-pointer Attempt & Simultaneous Foul - Rule & Statistics:

Great Basketball Pictures
" ...We have this situation: when player A2 attempts a 3-pointer, after the ball leaves his hands, opponent B1 fouls A1 in the lane and the referee calls it.

What should be the call and the statistician's register:
A1 foul received ? A2 3-pointer attempt ? A1 or A2 goes to the line ? ..."

The basket is good: it counts. Now:
1) if the team B is not in the penalty / bonus, team A is given possession of the ball for a throw in;
eBA Statistical Register: 3 points made for A2 and Forced Turnover for B2.

2) if the team B is IN the penalty / bonus, A1 goes for the free throw line and not shooter A2;
eBA Statistical Register: same stats and game goes on with free throws.

All the terms in this answer are explained widely at The Global Basketball Encyclopedia and in eBA ONLINE.
